Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
• A minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience.
• Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.
• At least 2 years' experience designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing collaboration tools and platforms within a digital ecosystem of an organization.
• Experience deploying communication and collaboration software (such as video conferencing systems, team messaging applications, and document sharing platforms).
• Proven experience in the configuration and operation of Voice and VTC core systems and end devices.
• Proven experience in deployment and configuration of security features in the voice and VTC domains (TLS, PKI, IPSec, etc.).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to resolving QoS and technical issues in complex IP networks.
• Excellent knowledge of SIP, H.323 and PSTN signalling protocols.
• Good working knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies.
• Experience providing end users support.
• Training/Certifications: Certified ITIL Foundation
Education, Experience and Training (Desirable):
• Experience with collaboration solutions from major vendors like Cisco, Poly and Pexip.
• Qualification of Cisco Certified Network Professional Collaboration (CCNP Collaboration).
• Experience with monitoring platforms and protocols such as CA Spectrum, nGenius One, SNMPv3, Syslog, etc.
• Scripting experience ideally in Python and experience using regular expressions.
• Experience with cloud-based collaboration solutions like Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex.
• Ability to navigate, influence and negotiate with all levels of the organization, business partners, customers and users.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to be concise in both written and verbal communications.
• Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
• Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including Allied Command Operations and Allied Command Transformation.
Duties and Role:
Specific duties for this post:
• Perform service continuity improvement tasks on the NATO voice & VTC infrastructures;
• Support innovation efforts related to voice and video conferencing technology;
• Work with the project management team and provides technical support to projects to enhance and improve the existing infrastructure and services;
• Plan, test and carry out routine configuration and maintenance operations within the voice and VTC domains;
• Be prepared to support maintenance activities and infrastructure deployments during out of business hours;
• Coordinate and raise CRQs (change requests) and ASIs (authorised service interruptions) when needed;
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation (configuration baselines, engineering reports, network diagrams, etc.) and provide training for other team members on new technologies and features;
• Mentor and/or coach team members on new voice and VTC technologies or features;
• Investigate and propose long-term solutions to encountered equipment and configuration problems;
• Provide third level support to the operations team for both static and deployable voice and video conference infrastructures when needed;
• Deputize for higher-grade staff, if required.
